Working from Dave’s notes and images, we let the space guide us. Light stone grounds the palette while T&G wraps the fireplace in warmth. A stone hearth connects the outdoors in, and drawing the wood down from the ceilings onto the walls creates a sense of openness that feels both expansive and intimate. These materials don’t compete, they belong together. Organic, inviting, and modern without ever feeling heavy.
This is our interpretation, and interpretations have limits. The work we love most begins with you, understanding how you live, what you never want to live with again, and how a space needs to hold it all. Our job is to collaborate until every corner tells your story and the room feels like home the moment you walk in. This is where we begin.
When we looked at the plans, we noticed there was already a lot of stone planned around the fireplace. To balance that, we introduced wood as a way to bring warmth and another layer of texture into the space while still keeping the room feeling light and inviting.
The darker stone at the hearth helps ground the fireplace and gives the entire composition a sense of balance. With such a large fireplace and open room, it felt important to anchor the space without making it feel heavy.
This is just an early exploration of how the materials could come together. With more conversation and collaboration, we can continue refining these ideas to make the space feel truly personal to you and this home.
